Dear Truedell Families,

Creating class lists is a shared task by our team of educators. Throughout the school year, we spend a significant amount of time getting to know your child and discovering their academic, social, and emotional needs in educational settings both inside and outside of the classroom. We strive to build the best possible learning environments for all students each year. Our school team considers a wide range of factors, including the overall number of students in each grade (if a split grade), student learning styles and personalities, the number of boys and girls, academic strengths and needs, peer relationships, learning skills and work habits, and social/emotional strengths and needs.

Whether a single grade or a combined grade, all classrooms include students performing at a wide range of achievement levels. We meet the needs of all learners in a classroom through differentiated instruction, focusing on developing critical thinking skills and providing modifications and accommodations for various learning needs.  In every case, Truedell staff put a great deal of thought into creating responsive classroom learning environments that will support the success of all students.

If you wish to request a class placement for next year for your child, it must be made by email to Ms. Jacob by Wednesday, June 14th at noon.  Please keep in mind that these requests will be considered but that a request does not guarantee a particular class placement.

Here are a few staff updates:

-Mr. Rich is retiring at the end of the school year.  We wish him well and thank him for his many years of dedicated service to Truedell!

-Mrs. Elliott returns from her leave next year.

-Mme Vines, Ms. Funnell-Kononuk, and Ms. Akey will teach at different schools next year. We thank them for their efforts with our students this year!
