📝 Principal's Message
Spring has arrived! Although... the snowfall on April 6th was a surprise, we are excited to see grass and pavement again.
We continue to provide many physical opportunities for students with running club, flag football and junior basketball all underway. There are over 85 student in our running club, training three times weekly. We look forward to road racing season and to upcoming track and field meets. The dedication and perseverance displayed daily is inspiring. Great work Timberwolves!
Beach day, Harry Potter evening and trips to Kingston Symphony & Robotics trip to BGC all provided rich experiential learning for students. A thank you to staff for providing these enriching experiences for our students.
SAC is holding a Scholastic Book Fair next week, 14-16 April. Classes will visit the book fair to purchase books on Wednesday, 14th & Thursday 15th. The book fair will be open after school for families to visit and purchase from 3:30-5:30 on Thursday 15th April. This is a fundraiser to replenish books in our classrooms and library.
It may seem like a long way off, but our grade 8's had graduation pictures this week. A reminder that graduation is Friday, 19th June @ 6pm.
Friday. 17th April is a professional learning day for educators in LDSB teachers. There will be no school for students.
Thank you for your support in education,
Mrs. H. Barrett & the Truedell Team
School Climbers are open!
Students are enjoying our reopened climbers on the yard. Please remind your child that wearing gloves while climbing on the climbers presents a slipping concern.
Staff will remind students at recesses.

Kindergarten and Early Learning
Registration is open and on-going for students aged 4 years by December 2026.
The Limestone District School Board is committed to your student’s development from Kindergarten to graduation. In Limestone Kindergarten classrooms, children are involved in many activities designed to help young learners explore, discover, play and grow. Kindergarten programs across Ontario offer a full day of learning for four and five year olds. We are unique in offering both English and French Immersion programs in both Year 1 (Junior) and Year 2 (Senior) Kindergarten.
Students may start school in September if they turn age four (Year 1 Kindergarten) or age five (Year 2 Kindergarten) by December 31 of that year. Those students who are already enrolled in Year 1 Kindergarten do not register again. We welcome new students looking to begin Year 1 or Year 2 to our schools year-round, but we encourage parents and guardians to pre-register children in February for the upcoming school year.   Â

Host an International Student – Be a Part of Kingston’s Global Community
Limestone is proud of our long tradition of hosting students from other countries. The demand for Kingston, and Canada, as a learning destination is rapidly growing. Students from over 15 different countries are here now staying with great homestay families in Limestone. Our International Education team is looking for more families to become homestay hosts to great international students.
We currently have 19 students on our waiting list that have applied to Limestone for 2026-2027 and need a home. They range from one semester to one year stays and are from Germany, Spain, Japan, Brazil, Slovakia, Czechia, Italy and Denmark.
Host families will be paid a tax-free monthly stipend to host students. All students in the program attend local intermediate or secondary schools and range in age from 12 to 17 years old. Our International Education team works hard to make a great match for your family, that can last a lifetime.
Families can learn more by visiting Limestone’s International Education website or phoning the International Education offices at 613-544-7745 ext. 288.
Support Available
In response to tragic events, locally or globally, students may experience a wide range of emotions, including sadness, confusion, worry, or questions about what they may be hearing from others. Students may react in different ways depending on their age, experiences, and how connected they feel to the situation. With time, reassurance, and support from caring adults, these reactions often ease.
We encourage families to keep lines of communication open at home, to invite questions, and to offer reassurance as needed. If you have concerns about your student or would like support, please refer to the following resources:
