📝 Principal's Message
Dear Timberwolf Families,
Welcome to another exciting week of learning and community at Truedell! Last week was an action-packed week of experiences. Students in Ms. Hilton’s class enjoyed hands-on STEM exploration during a robotics workshop, while Ms. Squarebriggs’ class visited the Bayridge SS computer science class, where they learned about coding and explored pathways in Computer Science and Engineering. We also had a fun outing to the Kingston Frontenacs game and lots of volleyball matches that showcased our students’ teamwork and Timberwolf spirit. This week, we look forward to more exciting opportunities:
Monday:
- Mental Health workshop with Patrick Callaghan (Ms. Squarebrigg’s class)
Tuesday:
- Youth gambling awareness session offered by the YMCA (Ms. Hilton’s class)
- Girls’ Volleyball Game vs. Collins Bay PS (Home)
Wednesday:
- Girls’ Volleyball Tournament. We are incredibly proud of our Timberwolf athletes for their teamwork and positive participation!
Thank you to our staff who are generously volunteering their time to run clubs for students during recess. Students are encouraged to take note of the clubs announced each morning on the announcements. These clubs offer fun and enriching opportunities for students to explore new interests, build skills, and connect with friends.
As always, thank you for your support and partnership. Be sure to read on for important updates and more opportunities from Limestone DSB and our community partners.
Wishing everyone a wonderful week ahead!
Yours in education,
David Allison

Kingston Youth Drive
Students at Bayridge Secondary School are organizing the Kingston Youth Drive from December 1-19 to support the Kingston Youth Shelter, and staff, students, family and friends of Truedell Public School are invited to join us in this initiative. Our goal is to provide meaningful support to local youth who may be facing difficult circumstances this winter.
The Kingston Youth Shelter offers emergency housing, essential supplies, and supportive programming for individuals aged 16-24 in the Kingston area. Winter can be an especially challenging time, and the need for donations increases significantly during the colder months. By participating in this drive, Truedell Public School will be helping us ensure that these young individuals have access to the resources and comfort items they need.

Free Access to IDELLO for the French as a Second Language Community
We are excited to share that Télévision française de l’Ontario (TFO) is offering free access to IDELLO for families in the French as a Second Language (FSL) community!
IDELLO is a rich online platform that offers virtual training, events, and resources designed to support French-language learning for educators, parents, and students. It is a great way to explore engaging content and strengthen language skills at home.
In recognition of Truth and Reconciliation Day, IDELLO also features a special resource collection for Grades 5 to 12. These materials help students learn about the lived experiences of Indigenous peoples in Canada and encourage thoughtful reflection on building a better future.
To request free access, families can contact TFO directly at support@idello.org.
Do not miss this opportunity to bring meaningful French-language learning and cultural reflection into your home!

Student Census 2025 - See Yourself in Limestone
Limestone is committed to creating safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environments for all students. To help us better understand how students’ identities and experiences relate to their achievement and well-being, we are launching our second See Yourself in Limestone Student Census Survey this fall.
The census is a voluntary and confidential survey for students in Grades 4 to 12, running from November 24 to 28, 2025. It gathers information about students’ identities and their experiences at school. This data is then paired with academic information to help us understand what school is like for different groups of students.
Important information for families:
- The survey is optional.
- Responses are confidential and students can skip any questions they do not wish to answer.
- Students will complete the survey during class time.
- Students who do not participate will be provided with an alternative activity.
Families who do not want their student(s) to complete the survey must contact their school principal by the end of day on Monday, November 17, 2025. Opting out means the student will not receive the survey in their email inbox.
By better understanding students’ identities and experiences, we can remove barriers and better support students in accessing what they need to succeed.

Stay Up to Date on Bus Delays and Cancellations
Sign up for Bus Status Alerts through Tri-Board’s Student Portal
- Families should sign up for bus status alerts by creating an account in Tri-Board’s Student Portal. Families can add their student to their account, so they are signed up to receive alerts for their specific bus and zone cancellations.
- When all transportation is cancelled across the district, the notification is sent as a general notice from Tri-Board to everyone with an account. Tri-Board does their best to post this alert by 6:00 a.m.
- Tri-Board will be communicating all bus delays and cancellations. The LDSB will not be communicating this information directly with families. The best way to receive communication regarding bus cancellations or delays is through the Student Portal.
School Attendance Matters
Consistent school attendance helps students build a strong foundation of knowledge, encourages a sense of responsibility, and allows teachers to better support each student's individual needs, leading to improved academic performance and a more cohesive classroom environment.
