📝 Principal's Message

Dear Timberwolf Families,

October is in full swing, and it’s been a busy and exciting time at our school! From field trips to athletic events, professional learning, and welcoming families into our classrooms, there has been a wonderful energy in the building and beyond.

Professional Activity Day – October 10
On Friday, staff across LDSB participated in a full-day Professional Activity Day focused on advancing teaching practices and supporting student success. Educators engaged in sessions centered on analyzing screening data using board-supported tools to identify trends and plan responsive next steps that accelerate student learning and growth. The day also included work related to the Student Census and school-based planning aligned with our School Achievement Plan. Staff were given dedicated time to review and refine Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to ensure they continue to meet the diverse needs of our learners.

Open House
Thank you to all the families who joined us for our Open House on October 9. It was a pleasure to open our doors and share the great learning happening across our classrooms. We appreciate your ongoing engagement. Shoutout to the School Advisory Council for their outstanding support of our Truedell community...and for preparing the delicious cookies for the open house!

Cross Country
Our cross country team participated in the Race Around the Park event at Lancaster Drive PS. Congratulations to all our runners for their effort and team spirit!

We’re now looking ahead to the regional cross country meet, which will take place next Wednesday, October 15. Our runners have been working hard, and we’re excited to cheer them on as they represent our school at this next level of competition. Go Timberwolves!

Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
Completed IEPs will be sent home with students on Wednesday, October 16. Families are encouraged to review them and reach out to their child’s teacher if they have any questions.

We value our continued partnership with families and look forward to all that the rest of October will bring.

Wishing everyone a safe and enjoyable long weekend!

Yours in education,
David Allison
Principal
