📝 Principal's Message

Dear Timberwolf Families,

We’ve wrapped up another wonderful week here at school! Our dedicated educators continue to build strong, supportive relationships with students while getting to know them as individual learners. Through ongoing reading and math assessments, teachers are gathering valuable data that provides insights into each child’s strengths and areas for growth.

This information plays a key role in guiding our instruction, which allows us to personalize learning, provide targeted support, and accelerate both student growth and achievement. It’s all part of our commitment to ensuring every student is supported in their learning journey.

The Terry Fox Run was a big success! The weather was beautiful, making it a perfect day to walk or run for a great cause. Thank you to everyone who joined in, donated, or helped out. Together, we’re keeping Terry’s dream alive and supporting cancer research!

Tuesday is Orange Shirt Day, a time for us to reflect and reaffirm that every child matters as we recognize the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

We have an exciting week ahead with several special events:

  • Monday is Picture Day: Bring your best smiles! Retakes and class photos will be on November 3rd, 2025.
  • Thursday is Pajama Day: A well-earned school-wide celebration for reaching our Terry Fox fundraising goal. Thank you for your generosity and support!
  • Friday is our annual Turkey Trot: We’re looking forward to a fun, active end to the week as our Grade 1-3 students take part in this much-loved event. Families are welcome to join us!

Thank you, as always, for your continued partnership in making our school a welcoming and vibrant place for all learners.

Yours in education,
David Allison
Principal

Orange Shirt Day - Tuesday Sept. 30th

Tuesday, September 30, 2025, is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day.

This day invites us to engage intentionally in learning about the Residential School System, and the true history of relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in Canada. It is a time to mourn the children who never returned home, and to honor the Survivors, their families, and their communities.

Human Development and Sexual Health Instruction

As part of LDSB's commitment to ongoing transparency and communication with families, please follow the link to Form 325-D on the LDSB website. It outlines the Human Development and Sexual Health curriculum expectations for Grades 1-8.  Families can request to have their child or children exempted from instruction related to Human Development and Sexual Health expectations by completing and returning an exemption form for each child or children (Form 325-B) five school days before the start of instruction. Prior to instruction, your child's classroom teacher will inform families when the expectations related to the Human Development and Sexual Health expectations in Strand D will be covered. For a more detailed overview of this process, please refer to Administrative Procedure (AP) 325: Exemption from Human Development and Sexual Health Instruction (listed under the Policies and Procedures Student section of the LDSB website), or contact the school.

School Attendance Matters

Consistent school attendance helps students build a strong foundation of knowledge, encourages a sense of responsibility, and allows teachers to better support each student's individual needs, leading to improved academic performance and a more cohesive classroom environment.
