📝 Principal's Message
With ten school days left until the winter holidays, we are moving into an exciting couple of weeks with several planned events and spirit days at Truedell. Further updates will be provided, and the dates are listed below in the newsletter. Be sure to read on for important details about upcoming events at Truedell, as well as messages and opportunities from the Limestone DSB and our community partners.
Last week featured the Jingle Bell Walk, along with plenty of volleyball action. Congratulations to our boys volleyball team for their tremendous effort at the tournament on Thursday. They swept all 6 sets of the round robin and they brought home silver! Thank you to Mr. Broome for his coaching and to our students for their well-earned success!
Staff even had the chance to play a second game against our volleyball champions this past week, and everyone had a great time!
This week, TRUEDelf shopping day will occur on December 11, and favourite sweater/jersey day is scheduled for December 12.
As always, thank you to our families for your continued partnership.
Yours in Education,
David Allison
Principal
December at Truedell: Upcoming Events
Gould Lake Outdoor Centre
Frontenac, Lennox, and Addington Science Fair
Kingston Youth Drive
Students at Bayridge Secondary School are organizing the Kingston Youth Drive from December 1-19 to support the Kingston Youth Shelter, and staff, students, family and friends of Truedell Public School are invited to join us in this initiative. Our goal is to provide meaningful support to local youth who may be facing difficult circumstances this winter.
The Kingston Youth Shelter offers emergency housing, essential supplies, and supportive programming for individuals aged 16-24 in the Kingston area. Winter can be an especially challenging time, and the need for donations increases significantly during the colder months. By participating in this drive, Truedell Public School will be helping us ensure that these young individuals have access to the resources and comfort items they need.

Free Access to IDELLO for the French as a Second Language Community
We are excited to share that Télévision française de l’Ontario (TFO) is offering free access to IDELLO for families in the French as a Second Language (FSL) community!
IDELLO is a rich online platform that offers virtual training, events, and resources designed to support French-language learning for educators, parents, and students. It is a great way to explore engaging content and strengthen language skills at home.
In recognition of Truth and Reconciliation Day, IDELLO also features a special resource collection for Grades 5 to 12. These materials help students learn about the lived experiences of Indigenous peoples in Canada and encourage thoughtful reflection on building a better future.
To request free access, families can contact TFO directly at support@idello.org.
Do not miss this opportunity to bring meaningful French-language learning and cultural reflection into your home!

Stay Up to Date on Bus Delays and Cancellations
Sign up for Bus Status Alerts through Tri-Board’s Student Portal
- Families should sign up for bus status alerts by creating an account in Tri-Board’s Student Portal. Families can add their student to their account, so they are signed up to receive alerts for their specific bus and zone cancellations.
- When all transportation is cancelled across the district, the notification is sent as a general notice from Tri-Board to everyone with an account. Tri-Board does their best to post this alert by 6:00 a.m.
- Tri-Board will be communicating all bus delays and cancellations. The LDSB will not be communicating this information directly with families. The best way to receive communication regarding bus cancellations or delays is through the Student Portal.
School Attendance Matters
Consistent school attendance helps students build a strong foundation of knowledge, encourages a sense of responsibility, and allows teachers to better support each student's individual needs, leading to improved academic performance and a more cohesive classroom environment.
