Truedell Week Ahead

September 7-11 2026

Welcome back, Truedell families!

We have had a wonderful first few days and look forward to an exciting year of learning together. Each week, usually on Fridays, we will share a brief preview of the upcoming week, including important dates, sports updates, and school news. Classroom teachers will continue to send their own updates and newsletters.

Our monthly newsletter is also posted on the school website.

Reminders and updates

·       Shortly before the school year began, Ms. S. Nadarajah, our Grade 6/7 teacher, accepted a position with Educational Services. Ms. Hobson is currently filling the vacancy.

·       LunchBox is setting up this year’s hot lunch program. We will let families know when ordering opens. Options will include Gino’s pasta, Greektown, Topper’s Pizza, and Edo Japan.

·       The concussion protocol has been updated for this school year. An updated link will be shared outlining the protocol and the responsibilities of school. Medical and families on returning to school. .

·       Verification sheets have been sent home with students. Please review the information, make any necessary changes, and return the sheets to classroom teachers so that contact, medical, and transportation details remain current.

·       School Advisory Council elections and the first meeting will take place in the library on September 21 at 5:30 p.m. Please note this date differs from the one shared in my first-day communication. Newly elected committee will be shared along with contact information.

·       Annual medical Plan of Care updates have also been sent home. Please review, update, and return them to the school as soon as possible.

·       School-Day is our online platform for trip permissions, team sports, and payments. Each student’s individual access code was sent home this week. Please register using that specific code.

·       If you plan to volunteer at school events or class trips, please ensure you have a valid CPIC. Processing times can be lengthy, so applying early is recommended.

·       Our Open House will be held on Tuesday, September 22 from 3:45 to 5:15 p.m. Come meet your child’s educators, visit the classroom, and connect with other Truedell families. Our SAC will be available for questions and sign ups.

·       Did you know that our SAC works with the charitable Ontario Bingo. Our school benefits by funds raised. If you are interested in volunteering for a two hour shift, please let SAC know.
