                           Welcome Back!

Dear Families,

What a wonderful first day of school! It was such a joy to welcome our students back into the building and to see so many smiling faces, new friendships beginning, and familiar routines starting to return. A new school year always brings a special energy, and today was a great reminder of how caring, curious, and resilient our students are.

Thank you to all families for helping make the transition back to school a positive one. We appreciate your patience with arrival and dismissal routines as everyone gets settled. Staff were outside and throughout the school supporting students, answering questions, and helping everyone find their way.

As we begin the year, here are a few friendly reminders:

·       Please ensure your child has indoor shoes, a refillable water bottle, and weather-appropriate clothing each day.

·       If your child will be absent or late, please enter absences into Safe Arrival

·       For student safety, please continue to follow the school’s arrival and dismissal routines and use extra caution in busy areas around the school.

·       We are planning to have hot lunches beginning before end of the month. Stay tuned.

Our first SAC, School Advisory Council, with associated elections will be Tuesday, 22nd Sept @5:30 in the library. Additional information will be shared regarding positions- Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, Indigenous rep, Members at Large etc. Nomination forms will be made available in the school office in the coming days. Please note-You must be present at the meeting to be elected.

We are starting a Truedell food pantry to support any family in our school community. We are accepting donations of dried food, personal items, diapers and toiletries. Our pantry will be located in the front foyer. Please feel free to give or take as needed. We know that hungry bellies make it hard to learn😊

We are looking forward to a year filled with learning, friendship, growth, and community. Thank you for partnering with us and for trusting us with your children each day. We are excited for the days ahead and grateful to begin this school year together.

Warmly,

Hilda Barrett
Principal
